In a tragic development, at least 8 laborers were critically injured with severe burns after a massive fire broke out a chemical factory in Punjab's Mohali on Wednesday. The Mohali fire chemical factory incident was reported from the Kurali area of the city, where several explosions were also heard from inside the chemical factory. Those with burn injuries were taken to a nearby hospital. Now, multiple Mohali Chemical Fire Videos are doing rounds on social media as well. As of now (while writing) about 24 fire brigade vehicles were present at the spot to extinguish the fire. As per reports, people present nearby also complained about a burning sensation in the eyes and difficulty in breathing.
Reports further suggest that at around 1:30 PM (IST), two explosions took place in the factory. These blasts are said to be caused by the bursting of a drum filled with chemicals. Fire brigade personnel are currently extinguishing the fire with great caution, as there is a possibility of the chemical coming out with the bursting of the drum.
