On 20th January, Monday, a huge fire broke out in sugarcane waste around 2 pm in Adampur town of Jalandhar. After the fire broke out, the children present in the near by government school were evacuated immediately. Fortunately, there was no loss of life in the incident.
This incident happened in Alawalpur area of Adampur. A spark from a high voltage wire caused a fire in a trolley full of sugarcane waste. Due to this, the entire trolley was burnt to ashes. The tractor driver narrowly escaped.
The fire brigade teams reached the spot immediately and controlled the fire. The cause of the fire is not clear at the moment. According to people, the fire started due to a spark from the wires. Adampur police has reached the incident spot in order to investigate the matter.
