The first FIR has been filed against Sufi singer Master Saleem at the Goraya police station in Jalandhar over his controversial statements made during Baba Murad Shah's fair in Nakodar.
This move comes following protests by Hindu organizations and Shiv Sena members, who accused him of hurting religious sentiments.
The FIR invokes Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings.

Shiv Sena members had organized a protest against Master Saleem yesterday, but police authorities assured them that action was being taken against the singer for his alleged derogatory remarks about Maa Chintpurni and the Hindu religion.
As a result, the protesters canceled their planned demonstration.
The singer had reportedly used offensive language when talking about Maa Chintpurni and the Sanatan Dharma. While the demonstration scheduled for Wednesday was called off, the police registered a case against Master Saleem under Section 295A late last night.
