On Thursday, a video of a young girl being tortured and assaulted by five men was doing rounds on social media. In the video, five unidentified men are seen torturing and thrashing a young girl.
The victim in the incident and the perpetrators have been identified as Bangladeshi residents by the Police in Bengaluru and Dhaka. The arrested accused are Sagar,23, Mohammed Baba Seikh,30, Ridoy Babo,25, Hakil,23, and the identity of the woman has not been revealed by the Police.
Reportedly, all, including the victim were illegal migrants from Bangladesh and were included in the prostitution.
Police said that the picture of one accused matched a Facebook profile picture, which helped the police in identifying the suspects.
One of the accused has been identified as a resident of the Mogbazar area, where he is popular as TikTok or Hirody Babu. When police showed the video, his mother identified him as a 26-year-old Rifatul Islam Hridoy.

After the horrifying incident went viral on the internet, on Thursday Bangaluru Police registered the case against the four men and a woman, at the Ramamurthy Nagar Police Station.
Kamal Pant, Bengaluru IPS tweeted late on Thursday and said, “Based on the contents of the viral video and preliminary investigation, a case of rape and assault has been registered against six-person, including two women at ramamurthyngrps.”
He further tweeted about the efforts been made to find the victim and said, “A police team has been deputed to an adjoining state to trace the victim so that she could join the investigation.”
He added, “According to the information revealed so far, all of them are part of the same group and are believed to be from Bangladesh. The victim who is also a Bangladeshi was brought to India for trafficking and was tortured and brutalized due to financial matters.”
He also said, "The investigation is being carried with full earnestness and under the supervision of senior officers."

in the video has been identified as the resident of Mogbazar, Dhaka,
Bangladesh.
As per the reports, for the past few months, the girl was getting her documents ready as she wanted to travel to Saudi Arabia but was missing for nearly three months. Bangladeshi authorities suspected that the victim is in India.

Earlier on Thursday, Assam Police had also registered a case and had promised to reward handsomely to the one who would provide any lead. Many assumed that the suspects in the video are from Nagaland and the highly circulated video is related to the suicide of a Nagaland woman in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
But it was cleared by Union Minister Kiran
Rijiju and Special Commission of Delhi Police Robin Hibu that the viral video
of a girl from Noth-East being brutally raped and tortured by four men and one woman is not related to the Jodhpur suicide case.
