India’s national carrier will resume operating flights to Wuhan on October 30. This will be the first flight to run services to the central Chinese city.
Wuhan is the city in China from where the coronavirus was first spotted in December and then it spread across the world. In June, Wuhan city was officially declared COVID-19 free and all restrictions had also been removed.
The Indian Embassy recently announced that a Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) flight would operate from Delhi to Wuhan on October 30 which will be the sixth VBM flight by Air India to China to facilitate travel for Indians stranded in both countries due to lockdown.
The Indian Embassy also informed that taking flights would be made available on payment which is decided by the airline.
These flights will help fly Indians who have valid work visas to return to China and bring back those who want to return home.
Passengers taking the journey will have to strictly follow all protocols issued by the Government of India, which includes a paid compulsory institutional quarantine of 7 days and home quarantine of 7 days following arrival in Delhi, according to the press release.
Eligible OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) cardholders and Indian nationals, who want to travel on any of these flights will have to register at the Consulates/Embassy as per jurisdiction. The passengers travelling must furnish important and required information about them in the embassy.
Those passengers who could not travel by previous Vande Bharat flights can travel now in one of these flights. They will be required to re-register themselves by sending detailed information about them
The Delhi-Wuhan flight has been announced after the cancellation of the October 23 flight between Delhi-Guangzhou.

Passengers arriving in New Delhi are mandated to undergo 14-day quarantine in allotted hotels.
