To mark the beginning commemoration of 400th Birth Anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, Pushpa Gujral Science City organized a webinar on “Teachings of the Guru: Science & Innovative thinking”.
Around 150 students participated in the webinar. Harjinder Singh Cheema, Managing Director, Cheema Boilers Limited was the expert speaker at this occasion. He said that he was deeply influenced by the Guru’s teachings of devotion, courage and integrity and that for the society to develop, innovative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit was the need of the day.
“The youth needed to follow the high values put forth by our Gurus and work hard to provide solutions to societal problems through use of Science & Technology. Only innovations could lead us to the path of sustainable development and the youth should aspire to become job providers instead of jobseekers”, he said.
He exhorted the youth to follow Guru Sahib’s teachings and cultivate traits of self-confidence, commitment, courage, and communication skills to be successful in life.
Dr. Neelima Jerath, Director General, Science City while giving welcome remarks said that we should imbibe the virtues inspired by Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji (Hind Ki Chadar) and shed pride and social inequalities. She encouraged all the participants to cultivate a scientific outlook, innovative thinking and pursue their goals with courage and conviction for success in life. She said that the world was facing an unprecedented pandemic and we need the support of Culture, moral integrity as well as Science and technology, to tide over this pandemic.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Grover, Director, Science City urged the youth to work with devotion and determination irrespective of the field they choose to achieve success.
