Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat on Saturday fired back at rival Captain Amarinder Singh and party leader Manish Tewari. While taunting, Rawat said
that both leaders are following their respective master’s voices.
"I accept his (Amarinder Singh's) best wishes. I think he still believes that leaving Congress was a mistake. And Manish Tewari is simply following his master's (Amarinder)
voice, just as Amarinder Singh is following his master's," said Rawat.
After Rawat alleged lack of support from the party ahead of polls, the Congress leader met with key Congress officials, including Rahul Gandhi.
Rawat addressed the media today after meeting Gandhi on Friday, claiming that he expressed his opinions indirectly through his tweets. He went on to say that his 'clear indications'
were meant to imply that party leaders are working in parallel but in opposite directions.
Rawat also stated that Congress will back him up and that they will work together to lead the party to victory in the 2022 elections.

"Some course correction is necessary to win the upcoming elections...sometimes expressing anguish is also advantageous to the party," said Rawat in New Delhi.
Earlier, Rawat in cryptic tweets said, “Isn't it strange? We have to swim through this election sea, but instead of helping me, the organisation has turned its back on me or is
actively playing a negative role.”
"The powers that be have let loose many crocodiles in the sea that we must cross. My hands and feet have been shackled by those who I am supposed to follow. I've had the impression
that Harish Rawat has gone too far, that you have done enough, and that it is time for you to rest,” he added.
Reacting to Rawat’s tweets, former Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh had mocked “You reap what you sow! All the best for your future endeavours (if there are any).”
Meanwhile, Manish Tewari tweeted, “FIRST ASSAM. THEN PUNJAB. NOW UTTRAKHAND…..BHOG POORA HI PAUN GAYE, KASAR NA RAHE JAWE KOI."
