Four employees of Air India have been taken action upon by the national carrier management for allegedly stealing unserved food and taking the dry ration from planes for their personal consumption as reported by a senior official.
The Airline has been facing such issues for long and for which a notice had also been issued warning those who steal the dry ration and unserved food.
“Officials found indulging in such practice should be summarily placed under suspension,” the notice read.
“Since the August 2017 circular, the airline has taken action against two employees of the catering department and two cabin crew employees, who were found to be stealing surplus food and rations from planes.” told a senior official to the news sources.
In the latest case of stealing food, an assistant manager and a senior assistant in the catering department have been suspended for 63 days and 3 days each after being caught in such activity.
“The catering division carries out spot and hygiene checks on flights and at caterer premises on random basis which pertain only to enforcing quality parameters for the in-flight food.” added the official on the condition of anonymity.
