In a massive move to make India self-reliant, the Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology (Meity) on Tuesday has announced that it has blocked 43 mobile applications for engaging in activities prejudicial to India's sovereignty, integrity, defense, security, and public order.
In an official statement, Meity said, "Ministry of electronics and information technology has issued the order for blocking the access of these applications by the users in India based on the comprehensive reports received from Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center, ministry of home affairs."

Earlier, in June, the government had banned 59 mobile applications, and then on September 2 it blocked access to another 118 apps under section 69 A of the Information Technology Act.
