An FIR has been filed against an unknown person for allegedly posing as the son of Bollywood filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani on Instagram. He had asked acting aspirants to contact him for a role in the famous filmmaker's next film.

The filmmaker's company filed a complaint, notifying the fraud, which led to the filing of the FIR. While no arrests have yet been made, police are looking into the matter.

After an official from Hirani's RH films, Andheri (East) office approached the Andheri police station on Wednesday night, an FIR was lodged under sections 66C and 66D of the IT Act, related to impersonation using a computer resource for cheating purposes.

Hirani's office got an email from an aspiring actor, on July 2, inquiring about auditions for a casting call put out by his son Kabir for a movie called "3 Teenage". Hirani's crew was shocked because they were not working on any such project and there had been no casting call.

The impostor claiming to be Kabir Hirani, posted an ad on Instagram stating that there is an urgent need for roles in Rajkumar Hirani's next film "3 Teenage". He told them to contact the production firm.
