Free high-speed Wi-Fi service will be provided to all government colleges and universities in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the service, to make education accessible to every student.
The service was launched by CM at a college in his constituency, Doiwala.
Rawat said that with this free internet service, Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to provide free internet benefits and assistance to all government universities and colleges.

Further talking about the advantages of introducing this service, Rawat said that internet connectivity in colleges and universities will play a huge role in bringing quality education and also help students in exploring diverse aspects in the educational field.
Rawat said the move is a big step towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India initiative and connecting the old with the contemporary.
