The French officials on Tuesday said that, in "couple of days", France will be moving a proposal at the UN to ban Masood Azhar, the Chief of UN-proscribed Jaish-e-Mahmood which has claimed the responsibility of the Pulwama Terror Attack that took the precious lives of 40 CRPF Personnel.
It will be for the second time that France will be party to such a proposal in the UN. Earlier in 2017, the US supported by the UK and France, had moved a proposal to put a ban on the Pakistan based terror outfit Chief. At that time also, the proposal was blocked by China.
“At the UN, France will lead a proposal to put Masood Azhar on the terrorist list... It will happen in a couple of days”, said a senior French source. The sources have also informed that the decision was discussed between Philippe Etienne, Diplomatic Advisor to the French President and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval Tuesday morning, French sources.
While expressing his sincere condolences, the French leader, who called Doval, also emphasised that the two countries should coordinate their diplomatic efforts.
