Former cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir on Wednesday took to his Twitter handle and outlined history in a bid to counter Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's remarks accusing the Modi government of bringing China and Pakistan together. Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday during his motion of thanks to the President's speech in the Lok Sabha lambasted the Modi government and accused the Centre of bringing China and Pakistan together which Congress always tried not to.

Rahul Gandhi said, "The single biggest strategic goal of India's foreign policy is to keep Pakistan and China separate and you brought them closer. Do not underestimate the force, the power that stands before us. This is the single biggest crime against the people of India. China has a clear vision.."

Following this statement of Rahul Gandhi, a huge uproar was created and various union ministers and the BJP leaders slammed the Congress leader. Now, cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir has also joined the chorus of teaching Rahul Gandhi a history lesson. Gambhir on his Twitter handle wrote that History has always shown that China and Pakistan have been together since the beginning. However, it is PM Modi who has actually unveiled their true colours.

"History shows China & Pak have been together to divide India since the beginning. Only thing our Prime Minister has done is to unmask their allies within!," wrote Gautam Gambhir.

It is pertinent to mention here that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has also slammed Rahul Gandhi saying he needs some "some history lessons”. Jaishankar also said that Pakistan illegally handed over the Shaksgam Valley to China in 1963, when a Congress government was in office. In his Tweet, Jaishankar had written, "Rahul Gandhi alleged in Lok Sabha that it is this Government which brought Pakistan and China together. Perhaps, some history lessons are in order: In 1963,Pakistan illegally handed over the Shaksgam valley to China. China built the Karakoram highway through PoK in the 1970s."
