After prime suspect Deepak Tinu in singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder case escaped from custody, Punjab Police DG Gaurav Yadav in swift action launched a probe against the errant police officials by suspending them and informed that operations have been initiated to re-arrest the dreaded gangster.
The incident took place on Saturday when the suspect was being brought from Kapurthala to Mansa by the department’s Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), amidst this transit, the gangster around 11 PM late successfully escaped custody.
The tweet made from DGP’s official Twitter handles read, “FIR regd. against errant police officials on the escape of Deepak Tinu from custody in Mansa. In charge CIA apprehended & suspended. Being dismissed from service under Article 311. No laxity will be tolerated. police teams have fanned out & operations for re-arresting the accused launched.”
As per the police, Tinu is one of the close aides of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. However, as several media reports say Tinu managed to escape from police custody due to major negligence from the CIA.
Soon, after the gangster’s escape Police, sealed Rajasthan and Haryana borders. On the other hand, a Facebook post made on gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s profile has threatened the police and warned of any undue action.
The CIA officials were bringing Tinu to Mansa through a private vehicle. Meanwhile, they decided to launch a raid at a place on the basis of suspicion.
Mana is around 200 KM far from Kapurthala and for this long journey police’s decision not to handcuff a dreaded gangster raises a serious question about the officers’ involvement.
Retweeting DGP Gaurav Yadav’s tweet the Punjab Police’s official Twitter handle made a tweet informing the sections under which the officials have been booked and their dismissal from the service.
The tweet read, “#FIR u/s 222,224,225 A,120-B IPC registered against errant police officials, #Incharge #CIA dismissed from service under Article 311.”

Deepak Tinu has been booked under multiple criminal offenses and bears a bounty of millions on his name. It is pertinent to mention here that Tinu met the slain singer at a conference couple of days before his murder.
The post from Lawrence Bishnoi made the explicit mention of the Haryana Police, besides the Punjab Police warning of any undue action against Tinu saying the police will have to bear the consequences if anything happened to our brother.
Deepak Tinu is a resident of Haryana’s Bhiwani and has been booked in over 35 plus cases from Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Chandigarh.
His link with Bishnoi’s gang dates back to 11 years now. He was lodged in Goindwal Sahib Jail from where Mansa Police took his custody to investigate the matter
