A day after Punjabi singer R Nait alleged getting an extortion call of Rs 1 crore from from Lawrence-Rinda gang, Gangster Goldy Brar dialed two Punjab-based businessmen and demanded a hefty ransom. As per reports, Goldy Brar who is the prime accused in Sidhu Moose Wala's murder case, demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore from a Mohali-based businessman. Brar has threatened another businessman to make him his business partner. Both businessmen received WhatsApp calls for this. They were also threatened not to file a police complaint. Sohana police station has registered a case on the businessman's complaint. The police have registered a case against the accused under section 308 of the IPC.
Who are the businessmen?
As per reports, sector-91 resident Mohit Grover has told the police in his complaint that he has a medical factory. On June 18, at around 3 pm, he received a WhatsApp call on his phone from a foreign number. The caller introduced himself as Goldy Brar. He also asked him to put his share in his business. If he needs anything or bouncers, they will be provided. When Mohit disconnected the call after hearing this, he received 10 to 15 calls from the same number. After this, when he picked up the phone again, the caller said that he should take his calls seriously. If he tries to complain to the police, his family will suffer a huge loss. After that, he also got scared. He also blocked these numbers.
Similarly, Sector-78 property dealer Basant also received a call from a foreign number. He was asked to pay extortion money of Rs 2 crore. The caller identified himself as Goldy Brar. He was also threatened with death. The property dealer also lodged a complaint at Sohana police station.
Who is Goldy Brar?
For the unversed, the notorious gangster Goldy Brar is a resident of Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab. He was born in the year 1994, his parents named him Satwinder Singh. His father was a sub-inspector in the police. He wanted his son to become capable by educating him, but Satwinder alias Goldy chose a different path.
Goldy Brar's cousin Gurlal Brar was murdered in Chandigarh. Gurlal was shot dead outside a club in Industrial Area Phase-1 on the night of 11 October 2020. He was a student leader of Punjab University (PU).
Gurlal Brar was closest to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Gurlal Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi were associated with the Student Organization of Punjab University (SOPU). After the murder of Gurlal Brar, the Lawrence gang wrote on social media that now a new war has begun, blood will not dry on the streets.
To avenge this murder, Goldy Brar chose the path of crime. Goldy came in contact with gangsters. He also met Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Lawrence Bishnoi. Then Goldy shot dead District Youth Congress President Gurlal Singh Pehalwan, accused of his brother's murder, in Faridkot on 8 February 2021. After this murder, Goldy secretly fled to Canada on a student visa.
