In Kapurthala, two suspicious bike riders were apprehended by the PCR team after a chase in the Sabzi Mandi area this afternoon. During this one police officer was injured after being attacked with the butt of a pistol.
According to departmental sources, an inmate brought from the jail to the civil hospital for medical treatment was abducted by bike riders. The PCR team, along with the police escorting the inmates, managed to capture both suspects in the Sabzi Mandi area. A pistol was also recovered from them. Sources told that the accused are associates of a gangster group.The police have not yet confirmed this incident officially.

They fled to the civil area but were apprehended with the help of the PCR team in the Sabzi Mandi. A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media platforms.The accused were riding a bike without a number plate. During the arrest, one police officer lost his turban, and the suspects struck him on the head with the pistol, injuring him.
However, police officials have been reluctant to provide any official comments on the matter.
