The involvement of gangsters in Kabaddi has increased to such an extent that gangsters operate their working by sitting inside the jails of Tihar and Armenia and other 11 countries like Europe, Canada, Germany and many more. They decide which player will play from which team. These gangsters have formed their own teams as well. It has become a common practice for them to pressurize international players and if they refuse to listen to them, these gangsters attack them by firing bullets...
On the complaint of North India Circle Style Kabaddi Federation, the OCCU (Organized Crime Control Unit) had interrogated 13 kabaddi players and remanded Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, a wanted gangster of Majha, in Patiala jail after questioning him. The firing on Kabaddi players which took place in Nakodar and Jalandhar is still unresolved. In the meantime, more than a dozen international players were threatened with ransom and forced to play as per the gangsters' wishes. Till now, 16 cases have been filed against gangster Jaggu in which cases like drugs, smuggling, murder, premeditated murder, and ransom were included. Police have been unable to prove these crimes against him till now. Now, he is operating his work from inside Tihar Jail.

Police are not able to deport gangsters stationed abroad. The reason behind this is that Interpol has imposed a condition to include the name of the gangster in the charge sheet. Among them is Lucky Patial, an Armenian prisoner involved in the murder of Sandeep Nangal Ambia.
Apart from them, gangsters like Sukhpreet Singh, Snover Dhillon and Lawrence Bishnoi are involved in criminal activities and are running their work from inside the prison.
Punjab police received information that many such activities have been carried out by these gangsters from inside the prison. To solve this issue, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann instructed the ADGP to keep a close watch on these gangsters in jail. He has recently formed Anti-Gangster Task Force in Punjab to maintain law and order in the state. Also, he will upgrade Punjab's jails technology-wise so that gangsters will not be able to carry on such activities.
