In a major mishap, at least two people lost their lives including a 14-year-old child after gas leaked from a refrigerator's compressor. The incident took place in Satnam Nagar of the New Dana Mandi area of Jalandhar. While two people have died in the accident, others have been admitted to a hospital. As per reports, a forensic team has also arrived at the spot to investigate the cause of the gas leak or if the gas leak is still prevailing in the area.
As per reports, two fire extinguishing vehicles were sent to the spot to doze off the flames. The control room reportedly received the information at 12:15 pm. Reports quoted people present at the spot. As per them, gym equipment was used to get packed inside the house. The building that caught fire was reportedly making plastic dumbles. During the time of the Jalandhar gas leak incident, at least three people were inside.
With the help fire brigade, everyone was immediately evacuated from the building. They were immediately admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment. Currently, an investigation is being done to find out how the gas leaked and what was the reason behind the incident.
It is pertinent to mention here that last month, five members of a family, including three children, were charred to death in a fire that was triggered by a refrigerator compressor blast in a house in Anand Nagar locality of Jalandhar. The deceased were identified as Yashpal Ghai, 70, Ruchi Ghai, 40, Mansha, 14, Diya, 12, and Akshay, 10.
