Indian billionaire Gautam Adani has emerged as the biggest wealth creator in 2021 surpassing Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk of Tesla. The chairman of the ports-to-power conglomerate has added extra billions to his net worth than anyone on the planet including its richest people Tesla CEO and co-founder Elon Musk and Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos.
Adan has added a whopping amount of $16.2 billion to his net worth which now stands at $50 billion, according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Excluding shares of one company, All Adani Group companies shares increased to at least 50 per cent while some even crossed profits of 90% making Adani the highest gainer in the billion-dollar list of businessmen.
Meanwhile, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani had added $8.1 billion —half of what Adani enclosed so far in 2021.
Adani has been on a spree of expanding his place in ports, airports, data centres and coal mines abroad fuelled by India’s recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic. Some Adani group shares such as Adani Total Gas have almost doubled while Adani Enterprises rose 90%, Adani Transmission Ltd gained 79%. Other group company stocks such as Adani Power and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones Ltd achieved more than 50% but then there is Adani Green Energy which quintupled last year and has added 12% in 2021.

Furthermore, the self-made first generation businessman defeated his fellow India’s richest man in 2020 and beat Mukesh Ambani in wealth creation last year as well.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Adani's wealth multiplied by $19.1 billion in 2021, bigger than $16.4 billion added by Mukesh Ambani in 2020 so far.
Globally, he was the world's ninth-biggest wealth creator, ahead of Steve Ballmer, Larry Page and Bill Gates in 2020.
