New Delhi: Cricketer turned politician BJP East Delhi candidate Gautam Gambhir said to be filed a defamation case against AAP leaders, a day after the ruling party in the national capital accused him of distributing pamphlets containing “obscene and derogatory” remarks on Atishi, its candidate from the same parliamentary constituency.
Atishi broke down into tears on Thursday amidst press conference as she read out parts of the pamphlet, which she said was being distributed with newspapers in areas such as Vivek Vihar and Krishna Nagar. The pamphlet also included derogatory remarks about deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia.

Hitting back to the BJP, AAP said it will also file a defamation case. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, “We are being defamed and they (BJP) are saying they will file defamation against us? We are going to send defamation notice to them today.”
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal slammed Gautam Gambhir on social media and said he had never imagined that the BJP nominee would “stoop so low” while urging Atishi to stay strong.
On the other hand, Gautam Gambhir challenged the Aam Aadmi Party and said he will quit his candidature if the charges against him are proven. Gambhir said, “I condemn what has happened. I am from a family where I have been taught to respect women. I didn’t know CM Arvind Kejriwal would stoop so low. I have filed a defamation case.”
