Later, it was revealed that the case was not related to the communal angle (Hindu-Muslim). Recently, Delhi Police has filed an FIR against Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar, Wire anchor Arfa Khanum Sherwani, Asif Khan, advocate Amit Acharya, and Twitter India’s head Manish Maheshwari in Delhi’s Tilak Marg Police Station.
The complaint was registered under the allegation of making provocative tweets about the assault of an elderly Muslim man in Loni, Ghaziabad. The news related to the FIR against Swara Bharti, Manish Maheshwari, and others are confirmed by the DCP New Delhi District Deepak Yadav.
Another FIR has been registered, on the orders of Ghaziabad SSP Amit Pathak, against Twitter, The Wire, Mohammad Zubair, Rana Ayyub, Salman Nizami, Maskoor Usmani, Sama Mohammad and Shaba Naqvi at Loni Border Police Station. In the investigation done by police and intelligence agencies, it was out that the video was made viral in a planned manner to disturb communal harmony. On Wednesday, Ghaziabad (Rural) SP Iras Raja said that three people – Kalloo Gurjar, Pravesh Gurjar and Adil, have been arrested for assaulting Saifi.
FIR said, “These people did not verify the truth of the matter and said it online with a communal angle with an intention to disrupt public peace and create a divide between religious groups.”

The FIR was registered in the Loni border police station, Ghaziabad district at around 11:30 pm.
The Press Club of India (PCI) has demanded the FIR naming journalists should be quashed as it shows ‘vendetta’ by Ghaziabad Police to create a sense of terror in the society. The statement read, “The PCI appeals to the government of Uttar Pradesh to intervene in the matter at the earliest to ensure that journalists are not made easy targets of police high-handedness by filing FIR against them.”
