The makers in the trailer have flashed that Ghuspaithiya is based on true events that revolve around the dangers of the digital world and the numerous types of threats that come with it, such as stalking and obsession. The makers have not revealed that which particular case Ghuspaithiya is based on but at the end of the trailer, there are two-three real-life news headline flashes on the screen. What are the real-life cases shown in Ghuspaithiya's trailer?
The first snip was Ex NSE MDs gave ex-CP's co Rs 4.5 crore 'secret' contract to spy on their staff: CBI. The particular news was filed in 2022. Under this, he CBI had filed a chargesheet against ex-Mumbai police commissioner Sanjay Pandey, iSEC (a company associated with his family) and its two senior executives, former National Stock Exchange (NSE) MDs Ravi Narain and Chitra Ramkrishna, and other employees in the illegal phone tapping case before a court in Delhi.
CBI's investigation in the NSE co-location scam case found illegal interception of calls from landline phones of NSE staff. It alleged that unauthorised recording and monitoring started in 1997 when the then MD of NSE connected call lines of employees to a digital voice recorder provided by a private firm. The NSE paid around Rs 4.5 crore in 8 years (2009-2017) to iSEC for illegal interception of calls.
