In a daily dose of viral videos of wildlife, a deadly video featuring a giraffe and lions is doing the rounds of the internet as it conveys an important message on perseverance and determination. The nearly 1.30-minute video was shared on Twitter by Naveed Trumboo of the Indian Revenue Service on Tuesday and has garnered over 11,000 views so far.
The video was recorded by a group of tourists at the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Lions attacked the giraffe in the grasslands but the latter refused to give up. While one of the lions climbed onto the giraffe's back, several others held onto its leg.
After a while, the giraffe walked ahead while the lions continued with their attempt. Undeterred, the giraffe kept standing for around five hours after being attacked. The lions eventually surrendered as the giraffe escaped from the scenario.
"A lesson on persistence. There will be many who will try to pull you down. But when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Here, a giraffe managed to keep standing for 5 long hours after being attacked. Eventually, the pride of lions had to give up," Naveed Trumboo said in the caption of his post.
