A case of physical abuse with a Jammu girl comes to light in Chandigarh. The accused, posing as a CBI officer call the girl to Chandigarh on the pretext of getting a job and took her to a hotel in Sector-22, where he reportedly raped the girl.
Later, the girl reported the matter to the Sector-17 police station and a team of the women police stations has started searching for the accused after recording the statement of the victim. The accused has been identified as Balwinder Singh, a resident of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, as per the booking records at the hotel reception.

In the complaint given to the police, the 23-year-old victim, a resident of Jammu, told that she is married and came to Chandigarh in search of a job. She was staying in a PG in Chandigarh where she met the accused, who claiming himself as a CBOI officer and assured her that he will help the victim in getting a job. “The accused asked me to meet someone in the hotel to talk about the job and took her to a hotel in Sector-22 in his own car. Where he had booked a room and later he raped her in that room,” she alleged.
According to the police, the statement of the victim has been recorded. His medical has also been done. Police have already launched a manhunt to nab the accused after registering a case under various sections of the IPC. A police team has also been sent to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar to verify the antecedent of the accused based on his ID proof submitted to the hotel at the time of booking a room there.
