In a historic win, Australian cricketer Glen Maxwell hit his fastest 100 in 40 balls to win the ODI Cricket World Cup match against the Netherlands in New Delhi on Wednesday.
His power-packed performance broke the record set by Aiden Markham of South Africa, who smashed a century in 49 balls in the current edition of World Cup ODI matches. Maxwell’s century has been added to the list of the fourth-fastest century in the ODI format, with AB de Villiers holding the crown position for hitting 100 in just 31 balls against West Indies in 2015.
Second on the list is David Warner, who hit his second ton in the current edition of ODI today to make Australia score 399 for eight against the Netherlands on Wednesday.
Maxwell, on Wednesday, hit nine fours and eight sixes to help Australia win the match. In the 47th over, Maxwell made half a century in 27 balls. He chased 13 more balls to make the fourth-fastest century of the ICC World Cup.
