After Mitch Marsh's 60-ball century for the Scorchers the night before, Stars captain Glenn Maxwell outdid himself with a breathtaking career first century against the Sixers.

After three early Stars wickets, Maxwell delivered the perfect captain's knock, scoring 103 from just 57 balls, including 12 fours and three sixes in a total of 5-177.

On a local leading news channel, Australian colleague Aaron Finch stated, "That was a tough innings."
"He had a chance on 15, and he made them pay for it."
