The release led to a massive treasure hunt in which more than 400,000 people participated and tried to search for gold and other valuable items. Unfortunately, around five people lost their lives during this massive search.

After a decade, in 2020, a former journalist, Jack Stuef, started claiming that he had found the treasure chest, but eventually, his statement turned out to be skeptical.
