A massive social media uproar sparked when a girl was allegedly denied entry into the Golden Temple just because she had painted her face with the Tricolour. The Golden Temple video on Monday went viral and people from almost all sections started slamming the 'Sewadar' (Staff) for denying the girl entry into the Harmandir Sahib saying that 'This is Punjab, not India'. At a time when the Punjab Government has launched a crackdown on anti-national elements, especially against Pro Khalistan leaders like Amritpal Singh, the Golden Temple video fumed netizens and many questioned whether the Khalistani elements have infiltrated the Harmandir Sahib administration as well or not. However, SGPC issued a statement saying that the girl did not paint the tricolour as Ashoka Chakra was not present, however, the Sikh body did not utter a single word on the remarks used by Sewadar Sarabjit Singh saying that 'This is Punjab, not India'. Now, a new video of Golden Temple has surfaced and it showcases the other side of the story.
In the new Golden Temple video, it can be seen people are agitated with a man who might have thrown something in the dustbin. Furthermore, the people standing are also angry at the girl and people can be heard saying that she is wearing a skirt. Not only this, but in another video, Sewadar Sarabjit Singh stated that the video that went viral does not tell the whole truth. As per Singh, the girl was denied entry not because she painted her face with tricolor but because she was wearing a skirt. And to enter the holy Harmandir Sahib, everyone needs to adhere to a certain dress code and that was the prime reason why the girl was denied entry into the Golden Temple. However, in the video, the girl can be seen wearing a legging, not a skirt.

Girl denied entry to Golden Temple; because she had the Indian flag painted on her face
What SGPC said about the Golden Temple video controversy?
The head of the SGPC was quick to give a statement, in an attempt at damage control. He stated that painting 3 colors without the chakra doesn’t necessarily make it the Indian flag, adding that there was no attempt made to insult the Indian flag. He also said that Punjab and Sikhs had made more sacrifices in the fight for freedom than most which was a testament to the community’s patriotism. He ended his statement by saying that he wanted to apologise in any case, if anyone’s sentiments were hurt in the process.
