A Canadian gangster named Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the murder of popular Punjabi singer-turned-politician Sidhu Moosewala on Sunday, just hours after he was killed. Lawrence Bishnoi's name has also surfaced as a suspect in the murder.
Satinder Singh best known as Goldy Brar is considered a special henchman of Lawrence Bishnoi. Last year, a court in Faridkot district had issued an open-ended non-bailable warrant against Brar in connection with the murder of Youth Congress leader Gurlal Singh Pehalwan. Pahalwal, 34, was gunned down by two unidentified miscreants.
Goldy Brar's name is also in a double murder case of two brothers named Paramjeet and Surjeet in Gurugram. In March this year, Delhi Police arrested two sharpshooters of Kala Jathedi, Lawrence Bishnoi, and Naresh Sethi’s gang.
Brar claimed responsibility for the murder on his social media account, stating that "he and Lawrence Bishnoi group was behind the murder."
Satenderjeet Singh, aka Goldy Brar, is a Muktsar gangster who is believed to be hiding in Canada.
Shamsher Singh, his father, was an ASI who was forced to retire due to his alleged participation in a murder case last year.
Gangsters in Punjab, according to sources, operate under code names. Goldy was once referred to as a "doctor."
Gangsters give their assistants names based on the responsibilities they have been allocated, and they change these names frequently.
After being involved in many criminal cases, he is a wanted criminal in India. He is a key suspect in the murder of Gurlal Singh Pehalwan, the District Youth Congress president, in 2020.

On August 7, 2021, Vikramjit Singh Middukhera, a Youth Akali Dal leader known as Vicky Middukhera, was shot and killed. Moosewala was accused of ordering his manager, Shagunpreet Singh, to carry out the murder. It was claimed that Singh recruited members of the Kaushal gang to assassinate Middukhera. Singh went to the United Kingdom in April this year after his name came up during an investigation.
