Chandigarh, March 30:In a major recruitment drive under the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh's flagship, "Ghar-Ghar Rozgaar" employment generation programme, the Punjab Government has initiated the process to fill 2,280 posts in various departments through Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB).
This was disclosed by the Chief Secretary Ms Vini Mahajan, here on Tuesday.
She said the Board has given in-principle approval to the recruitment drive and advertisements to this effect would be issued shortly.
The Chief Secretary said the PSSSB would ensure a fair and transparent recruitment drive, and the Board would carry out videography, install jammers and biometric technology to complete the entire recruitment process smoothly to ensure merit-based selections, in line with the mandate given by the Chief Minister.

Divulging details, the PSSSB chairman Raman Behl said the recruitment drive will be held to fill 847 posts of warder and matron in the Jails department, 199 posts of legal clerk in the various departments to ensure speedy justice to the people, 807 librarians in the Education department, 56 Senior Industrial Development Officers in the Industries and Commerce department, 61 Block Level Extension Officers, 51 Excise and Taxation Examiners, 120 technical assistants in Punjab Warehousing Corporation, 112 supervisors in the Social Security department and 27 posts of Fishery Officers in the state.
He said the Board will soon issue advertisements to seek applications from the eligible candidates.
