With the lockdown imposed, people are facing difficulties to buy essential services but govt came up with digital platforms in the country's fight against the COVID- 19 pandemic. For the latest coronavirus related updates and guidelines, the government is making use of social media platforms and websites, has been disseminating information actively to each out there.
The Government of India, in its latest move, has said that to curb the spread of novel coronavirus, it will conduct a telephonic survey. According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), citizens will get a call from the number 1921 on their mobile phones.
MoHFW also clarified in its official notification that survey will be conducted by National Informatics Centre (NIC) and people are "informed that it is a genuine survey." People, as per the notification, are also requested to "participate in a good measure when a call comes in from 1921 to enable proper feedback of the prevalence and distribution of COVID symptoms."

Besides this, the health ministry also warned citizens to be aware of the prank calls or from any other number in the guise of such similar survey aren't genuine. Only a call from 1921, as per the notification, will be an authentic survey related call.
The notification further urged the States and Union Territories to "inform about the public in their States/UTs about the survey. States should also emphasize on the point that such exercise conducted by unofficial sources could be a phishing attempt. The State health departments have also been told to host the information about this survey on their official website's homepage."
Health Ministry in its notification has also stressed on the importance of not chalking out personal information to any other caller that may say that a survey is being conducted. Hence, only a call from the official number 1921 will be coronavirus survey related call which is being conducted by the government.
But, the date of commencement of the survey has not finalised yet.
