Day by day the number of migrants from the different parts of India are increasing in the district which is situated on the international Indo-Pak border. Local people, out of greed, are giving their buildings for rent at very high prices without getting their police verification. These people are generally associated with small businesses like selling shawls, suits, dry fruits, and other items or doing workmanship and sometimes buying shops in the main markets of the districts.

Which are the main states from where migrants come?

A large number of people in the city have pleaded to the police to investigate such people so that security is not compromised and the city can breathe in a safe social environment. Most of the people coming from other states belong to a particular community and they are coming in large numbers from Jammu and Kashmir, UP, Bihar, Delhi, and Rajasthan.

Being a border district, already smuggling of drugs and weapons is being done by Pakistan. Innocent people are getting caught in the clutches of such gangs in the pursuit of making money. Even before this, an ISI agent named Razzullah from the cantonment area and a youth named Kala Singh from a government office have been caught, who used to share the secret information of the army with the neighboring country.

What rule of the law say?
According to the rules, if a person has a tenant at his house and shop or a servant in the office, then it is necessary to get his police verification done. On the basis of documents, the police searched the past record of the man or woman and it is verified whether the tenant or servant is not involved in any criminal activity.

What do people have to say?

All India Brahmin Welfare Society chairman Pandit Dharamu Sharma, secretary Anshu Devgan, youth social worker Indra Gupta, and Suraj Mehta said that security agencies should keep a close watch on such people. He said that the local people out of greed should also not allow such people to build buildings.

SP: People should cooperate with the police

SP Headquarters Balbir Singh said that it is the responsibility of the people to get the police verification done before hiring a tenant or a servant. He said that whatever application comes to the police, the police get that person fully investigated. People should cooperate with the police.
