Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal read her husband’s message during the INDIA alliance’s mega rally at Ramlila Maidan today. In the message, Arvind Kejriwal, made 6 guarantees to the people of India that he promises to fulfill.
Sunita Kejriwal started out by saying “Your own Arvind Kejriwal has sent a message for you from jail. Before reading this message, I would like to ask you something. Our Prime Minister put my husband in jail, did the Prime Minister do the right thing?” “Your Kejriwal is a lion, they will not be able to keep him in jail for long…,” Sunita Kejriwal went on to say at the rally.
Reading out Arvind Kejriwal's message from jail, Sunita Kejriwal said, "My dear fellow Indians. Accept greetings from your son, your brother from jail… Today, I invite all 140 crore people of this country to build a greater India.”
…I am here in jail, where I have plenty of time to think. I think for Mother India. Mother India is very sad. Mother India is in pain, she is crying out in agony,” Sunita Kejriwal said as she read out the Delhi CM's message.
During the speech, Sunita Kejriwal also read out six guarantees by Arvind Kejriwal which are:
- 24 hours electricity throughout the country
- Free electricity for the poor in the entire country
- Will build excellent government schools in every village and locality.
- Mohalla Clinic in every village and locality.
- Will provide fair prices to farmers for their crops under Swaminathan Commission
- Will give statehood to Delhi
The mega rally came against the backdrop of the arrest of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the last two months, two of the key faces of the Opposition bloc. Among those who participated in the rally are Jharkhand CM Champai Soren, Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana, NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI general secretary D Raja, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, SP president Akhilesh Yadav, DMK’s Tiruchi Siva, and TMC’s Derek O’Brien.
