Gurdas Maan posts video on social media offering apology after landing in controversy.
Gurdas Maan, a Punjabi musician, has posted a video on social media apologising for the recent controversy.
Maan got embroiled in a controversy after a video of him stating that the leader of a dera and Nakodar Sain Laddi Shah was descended from Guru Amar Dass, the third Sikh guru, went viral.
The members of the committee filed a complaint with the Nakodar police and then with the SSP of Jalandhar. The group had asked that a complaint be filed against the singer, or else they would stage a protest throughout Punjab. Outside the SSP office, members chanted anti-Maan chants and threatened to gherao the office if officials did not take action against Maan.
The musician is said to have made the comment at a mela in Nakodar. Members of the committee said that Maan's statement was part of a premeditated approach aimed at hurting Sikh sentiments.

Earlier Gurdas Maan has been in controversy even before this. Even then, Gurdas Maan was strongly opposed. He had recently made a statement about the Punjabi language which had caused him controversy. In this case, he had responded to a person from the stage in bad language. As a result, he was widely criticised.
He was also not allowed to speak at the farmers’ dharna from the Singhu border stage. Although stage managers were ready to give him time, youngsters in gathering strongly opposed the idea.
While some accuse Maan of speaking late in farmers’ support, this, however, is not the reason behind the anger of those protesting against him. Strange as it may sound, the legendary singer’s detractors accuse him of disrespecting Punjabi language.
Now the latest controversy is Nakodar. Arriving at the famous fair here, Gurdas Maan claimed that the background of Baba's descendants was connected with the generation of Shri Guru Amar Das Ji. Now the apology video of singer is going viral.
