Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has issued an anti-corruption action line number on Wednesday. After this, Gurdaspur DC Mohammad Ishfaq issued notice regarding strict rules to be followed in the office. The notice didn’t go well with the employees. The revenue association got offended so much that they demanded either to take notice back or they will leave their work.
In the notice issued by DC it was written that no field officer or employee will go on outside for tour without approval. Also, they will not leave their work stations. Any files which are pending in Sanjh Kendra, work on them immediately. To monitor registry related work, Nodal officer will be appointed. CCTV cameras will be placed outside office. Live feed of DC office will be managed by District System Manager. Strict investigation will be done if anyone found guilty.
“The circular issued by DC Gurdaspur shows that we are not doing our work with honesty. We are badly hurt as such notice depicts that revenue officers are the most corrupt officers, which is not true,” said Gurdev Singh Dhami, President, Revenue officers association.
Due to such remarks, DC Gurdaspur canceled his notice.
“I issued that notice for the betterment of the department. I know that we all are working honestly. I have my personal car and government car too. I never use my government car for any personal work. I have taken my orders back,” said DC Gurdaspur.
