As per the latest information received, Gurdaspur Police have got hold on one of the biggest high-profile cases. All three arrested were on police’s hit list from a long time as they were involved in the 72.5 kg heroin seizure case at the Nhava Sheva Port, Mumbai. The heroin was taken hold of at the port on 22nd July 2022. Reportedly, the drugs were seized in a joint operation of Punjab Police and Anti-Terrorism Squad Mumbai.
This information of arrest was given by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav through his Twitter Handle. DGP in his Tweet wrote that the arrest of 3 high-profile drug smugglers in a joint operation conducted by Gurdaspur Police and ATS Mumbai has acted as a crucial breakthrough in 72.5 kg heroin seizure case. He further added that the accused were actively involved in drug smuggling that takes place trans-border or inter-state. DGP stated that this is just another step taken in the aim to make Punjab a drug-free state as it is the vision of both Punjab Police and CM Mann.
