A serious question is being raised over the law and order situation in Punjab after Youth Congress President leader Gurlal Bhalwan was shot dead in broad daylight at Jubilee Chowk in Faridkot today.
As per reports, Youth Congress president Gurlal was shot six bullets on his body. It is being told that two bike riders fired a total of around 11 rounds on him. The attackers escaped from the scene. There was chaos in the Chowk area after the attack.
Meanwhile, soon after the incident grab limelight, top officials of government, congress party workers and CM Captain Amarinder Singh expressed shock and offered their condolences to the family members of Gurlal.
“Have directed DGP Punjab Police to ensure a speedy investigation and nab the culprits responsible for this heinous act. The guilty will be severely punished," said Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh.
