Gurpreet Singh Bhullar appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Amritsar

Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, one of the wealthiest Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, has got appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Amritsar, Punjab.

On Wednesday, 25th September, one of the wealthiest Indian Police Service (IPS) officers Gurpreet Singh Bhullar got posted as the new Police Commissioner in Amritsar, Punjab. According to the Union Home Ministry data, he owns properties worth more than Rs 150 crores. He owns properties that includes eight homes, three commercial properties, and four agricultural plots.

He was an IPS officer from the 2004 batch. Few years back, he was named as the Jalandhar’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). He has served SSP in Mohali for the longest period.  Before joining civil services in 2004, he earned a BA honours degree.

Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has continued his family’s legacy by becoming an IPS officer. His father as well as his grandfather, Gurdayal Singh Bhullar, had also worked in the same city and served as IPS officers. His grandfather was the SSP of Jalandhar from 1957 to 1960.
