Reportedly, police may arrest the accused soon.

Earlier, a police officer also made a similar claim, in which he termed the incident as mob lynching and not sacrilege, the senior police official said that charges will be filed against the mob for killing the man.

Still, the investigation in this matter is going and after the revealed fact, the FIR will be modified.

What was the matter?

A day after the mob lynching of a man over a sacrilege attempt in Amritsar, another youth was thrashed to death by locals of Kapurthala district in Punjab.

Earlier, it was reported that the man who allegedly tried to commit desecration and insulted Nishan Sahib was apprehended by locals who refused to hand over him to the police. The man was later beaten to death after the mob scuffled with the police.

The incident occurred at Nijampur village of Kapurthala on Sunday at around 4 am. Residents of the village apprehended the man in the early hours of Sunday at a gurdwara, stating that he was seen “already disrespecting” the Nishan Sahib (Sikh flag) at the gurdwara.
