Two of the biggest Punjabi singers Hans Raj Hans and Jasbir Jassi have been indulged in social media spat. The controversy erupted after Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi expressed his displeasure about singers singing in various Deras of the state. Jasbir stated that singers should skip singing in Deras and this irked BJP leader & singer Hans Raj Hans. Hans Raj Hans who is also the head of Lal Badshah Dera of Nakodar slammed Jasbir Jassi and warned him to be careful while giving statements.
As per reports, Hans Raj Hans in an interview with a portal stated that he would explain to Jassi that son, think before speaking. Hans Raj asked Jassi a hypothetical question asking what he do if someone took him to the Dargah and requested him to sing. The Punjabi singer asked will he say that he would not sing at Dargah? Furthermore, Hans Raj Hans stated that it's the same as you are saying you will not go sing at weddings where you are not even invited. "How can Jassi boycott when no one has invited him to the Deras?" asked Hans Raj Hans.
In response, Jasbir Jassi commented on the post saying "Hansraj Hans ji is a great artist blessed by nature. He has caused a huge loss to himself and the music industry by coming into politics. Bhaji should just sing and teach people." Jassi in response advised Hansraj Hans that singers should not go towards politics but should take Punjabi culture and singing forward.
