The murder of India's designated Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada is back in the headlines again. Canadian media released Hardeep Singh Nijjar's murder video on Saturday. In the viral Hardeep Nijjar CCTV video, the Khalistani terrorist was reportedly shot dead by two men who arrived in a white sedan and sprayed bullets at him. During the attack, Hardeep Singh Nijjar was leaving a gurudwara in Surrey, British Columbia, in his Dodge Ram pickup truck, when he was attacked by unknown miscreants. For the unversed, Hardeep Nijjar was designated a terrorist by India in 2020 and was shot and killed outside a gurudwara in Surrey, British Columbia, on the evening of June 18, 2023. The killing of Hardeep Nijjar brought India and Canada to diplomatic loggerheads. While Canadian PM Trudeau accused New Delhi of carrying out Nijjar's assassination, India refuted the allegations.

As per reports, Canadian media CBS News obtained the Hardeep Singh Nijjar CCTV footage from 'The Fifth Estate', a Canadian investigative documentary series that airs on the CBS network. The footage has been verified by more than one source, CBS News reported.

The Canadian media further claimed that two witnesses, who were playing football in a field nearby when the incident took place, said that they ran towards the spot from where the gunshots were heard and also attempted to chase the assailants. Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, one of the witnesses was quoted by The Fifth Estate that they saw "two guys running". "We started running towards...where the sound was coming from."

It is pertinent to mention here that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has yet to name any suspect in the Hardeep Nijjar killing or make arrests. For those unaware, Hardeep Nijjar's murder case is being investigated by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT). In a release in August last year, IHIT said investigators have said that a third person, the driver of a getaway vehicle, was involved in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
