Haryana Elections 2024 Results: Slowly and steadily the uncertaining over who won Haryana Elections 2024 is clearing and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may score a hattrick in the state. While most of the Exit Polls had predicted that Congress party wil leasily sweep Haryana Elections 2024, the Election Commission of India's trends and final results is telling a totally contrasting story. While counting is still underway, ECI's trend indicate that the BJP is leading on 50 seats, Congress is leading on 35 seats, INLD is leading on 2 and two independent candidates including India's richest woman Savitri Jindal has already been declared a winner.
Notably, Haryana Elections Results 2024 are yet to be finalsed, but celebrations have started outside former Haryana CM ML Khattar's house. On the other hand, Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda is still hopefull that the final results will be in favour of the INC and they will form the government.
While talking to a news wire, Bhupinder Hooda said, "As per the input I have with me, we are touching the majority. Congress is getting the majority. There are several seats that we have won...but the same is yet to be updated...I have news that counting is stopped at several places. We are getting the majority...This is a game, the ball is sometimes here, sometimes there but we will do the final goal."
It is pertinent to mention here that after ECI's trends showcased BJP returning to power, Congress filed its complaint claiming there was "an unexplained slowdown in updating of results" on the EC's website for two hours till 11 am.
"As you can imagine this allows bad faith actors to spin out narratives that undermine the process. You can see examples of it already playing out on social media. Our fear is also that such narratives can then be used by these mala fide actors to influence processes where counting is still underway, i.e...We request you to issue immediate directions to your officials to update the website with true and accurate figures, so that false news and malicious narratives can be countered immediately," Congress wrote in its complaint.
On the other hand, ECI rejected the claims saying that vote-counting today "is unfolding in the presence of candidates, observers and micro-observers as per the rules".
