Haryana Police Sub Inspector Vijay Kumar posted at the Tohana Border to stop the farmers' march to Delhi died on Tuesday evening. Haryana Police on Wednesday took to its official X handle and shared the information saying that Sub Inspector Vijay Kumar died after his health deteriorated suddenly. Haryana Police further revealed that apart from Vijay Kumar, three more officers have lost their lives on duty who were posted at the border areas to stop the farmers protest. Haryana's Director General of Police also expressed grief. Haryana Police in a separate statement stated that no farmer is dead in the latest tiff between them and the Police.

 

Notably, before this, an old farmer in his 70s protesting at the Shambhu border reportedly died of a heart attack at the site. He was rushed to the civil hospital in Rajpura at 4am from where he was referred to the Government Rajindra Hospital in Patiala, where he breathed his last. Gyan Singh of Gurdaspur district, who was protesting at the Shambhu barrier on the Punjab-Haryana border. 

 

 

Punjab Police's advisory for farmers

 

After the faceoff between farmers and Haryana Police intensified, Punjab Police on Wednesday issued an advisory for the protestors Punjab Police took to its official X handle and appealed to farmers to protest peacefully and not rush to the barricades installed by the Haryana Government. Not only this, the Punjab Police also urged the Haryana Police to not use force against the protesting farmers. Below is what the Punjab Police said- 

"In view of ongoing dialogue between Farmers and Centre, all are requested to maintain peace and harmony. Protestors should be peaceful and not rush at Haryana Barricades and Haryana Police is requested not to use force..We advise you all to stay away from rumour mongers & verify news before sharing on social media."
