Ever since the Hathras gangrape and murder case has erupted, Uttar Pradesh is regularly reported similar cases. In another inhumane incident, a six-year-old girl of Hathras was allegedly raped by her relative in the Iglas area of Aligarh district. The girl was admitted to Delhi hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment, police said on Tuesday.
According to Senior Superident of Police Muniraj G, the minor was held captive at a relative's house in Iglas and was rescued on September 17.
“On a complaint by a social organization police raided the house, which belonged to a relative of the victim, found the girl and admitted her to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College hospital where she was being treated till four days ago,” the SSP told reporters.
After her condition deteriorated, the girl was then shifted to Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital where she died on Monday.
On September 21, police lodged an FIR based on the complaint of the girl's father after he suspected that the girl was raped in captivity. However, the accused has confessed to his crime in front of police and is now detained, SSP said.

“The boy’s mother, who is the maternal aunt of the victim, is reported to be an accomplice in the crime and is absconding,” he added.
On Tuesday, the victim’s family sat with her body on the main road in Hathras in protest against the failure of the police to arrest the woman. After senior police officials convinced them, they agreed to perform the last rites.
On the other hand, Iglas police station SHO has been suspended for laxity in duty, said SSP. Police has reassured the family that two police teams have been constituted to trace the woman.
