The Punjab government has suffered a setback because of the High Court. The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday stayed the government's opening of bidding for 276 pits. The High Court has sent the government a notice regarding this and also sought a response.
According to RPS Bara, Senior Advocate for the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Gagneswar Walia filed the petition there, I n which it was stated that the pollution department's guidelines had been disregarded in these tenders.
The Mining Department tendered 276 pits. Due to the stay order on the tenders by the High Court, a big question has been raised on the Punjab government. Apart from the flour lentil scheme, the matter of banning the transportation tender policies of the Food Supply Department is already in the High Court. The operation of tenders has obviously been prohibited, but mining along the Sutlej river continues without restriction.
