The boy dies of heart failure after consuming four energy drinks in a day and he was consuming the same amount of drinks for the past two years. After he was admitted to the hospital, he required extensive health care and he was so ill that doctors were thinking that he needed organ transplantation.
He was hospitalized after suffering from shortness of breath and weight loss. Every test including blood tests, ECGs, scans were done to find out the actual cause of such condition. And it was revealed that he had both heart and kidney failure.
The authors of Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust wrote, "We report a case of severe biventricular heart failure potentially related to excessive consumption of energy drink in a 21-years-old man."
The doctors who were treating him concluded, "Energy drink-induced cardiotoxicity was felt to be the most likely cause." They added that the boy did not have any medical history before and presently he was hospitalized because of the excessive intake of energy drinks.

Describing his condition the doctors claimed that the boy was traumatized and the boy spend 58 days in the hospital. The doctors too highlighted the fact that each can of the energy drink contains 160mg of caffeine.
The doctors showed concern over the excessive use of these energy drinks as these are quite popular among young children, as the energy drinks have the potential cardiotoxic effects.
The unnamed student added his thoughts and said, "The energy drinks companies must add more warning labels on the bottles or cans." He added that "When I was drinking four energy drinks in a day, I suffered from severe migraine headache which occurs during the period I don't consume the drink. I also suffered from tremors and heart palpitations, which restricted my ability to study and I was not able to concentrate on my daily tasks as well."
