Reiterating the firm commitment of Punjab government to create a healthy sports culture at grass root level, MLA Pargat Singh on Sunday distributed sports kits to100 budding football and hockey players at the sports ground of village Samrai.
Divulging details, MLA Pargat Singh said that as many as 100 sports kits worth Rs. 2.25 lakh comprising track suits, footballs, shoes, and hockey sticks besides other inventories were distributed at the playground. He categorically said that the state government was committed to providing all the possible help to young players so that a major push could be given to the sports activities in the region. He also ensured the availability of adequate funds to achieve this goal.
While interacting with the budding players, the MLA exhorted them to work hard in their respective games which would definitely bring laurels for them, state, and the country at national and international arenas. He further assured the sports persons the state government would extend all possible support and guidance so that they could excel in future.
Expressing immense satisfaction over the sports activities being promoted at village Samrai, the MLA said that the culture of daily evening practice in the playground would not only ensure requisite transformation in their fields but also boost the confidence of these players.
MLA Pargat Singh said that the government was providing the sports kits to clubs and youths to motivate them towards sports. He added that sports help the youths to develop a team spirit which could help them to excel in their lives besides building a healthy society.
The MLA called upon youths to channelize their energy towards the sports and scale new heights in their career. The MLA further pointed out that the need of the hour was to popularize sports culture amongst the children as well as the youths. He asked the budding players to lay due focus on study along with the Sports for comprehensive development of their personality. He said that more sports kits would be distributed among budding players to help them practice smoothly.
Thanking the MLA Pargat Singh for his commitment towards the sports, village Jandiala Sarpanch Makhan Palhan, Pandori Sarpanch Kamal, Samrai Sarpanch Deepa said that the Jalandhar Cantt constituency has witnessed a massive increase in the sports infrastructures during the past few years adding distribution of sports kits would ensure best practicing environment to the young lads.
