The Narcotics Control Bureau on the night of September 4 had arrested Rhea Chakraborty's brother Showik Chakraborty and SSR's manager Samuel Miranda for their alleged involvement in the drug cartel linked to the death probe of Sushant Singh Rajput.
NCB on Saturday, produced the two accused before the Esplanade court and the hearing is still underway. Reportedly, NCB has sought 7-day custody as some people connected with the case are being summoned and they need some time for confrontation purposes. It has also told the court that they have given some fresh names and to evaluate the facts, NCB would require those people in remand.
On the other hand, it has come to light that Showik's lawyer, Satish Maneshinde is opposing the NCB remand as no seizures have been made during the raids. Thus, going by the NDPS act, remand for a week is not possible.
Currently, intense arguments are going on inside the court. The court is going through the case papers, the recoveries being made, the drug cartels, and other things.
Before producing the convicts before the court, NCB took Showik and Miranda to a hospital for their medical check-up. As of now, they have not undergone any drug test.
