A noticeable rise in temperature will be reported in various cities of Punjab in the upcoming days as the heatwave tightens its grip over the state. According to the concerned reports, today’s temperature in the different cities of the state increased by approximately 0.7°C, which was around 3.5°C, more than the normal levels.
The Indian Meteorological Department has classified this rise in temperature as “significantly above normal.”
Reportedly, the highest temperature reported in Patiala was at 41.3°C.
A warning has been issued by the IMD, Chandigarh, which states that various districts will be experiencing heatwave conditions in the last days of April.

As per the latest update, a yellow alert has been issued for Fazilka, Muktsar, Bathinda, Mansa, Barnala, and Sangrur on April 25. Bathinda, Fazilka, Muktsar, Firozpur, Mansa, Sangrur, and Barnala, covering much of southwestern Punjab, will be experiencing increased temperatures from April 26 to April 29.
Amid this situation, the Department has advised the people to take all the necessary precautions and stay safe from the heat.
Rain may fall from April 30 -
Along with the update regarding the scorching heat in Punjab, the IMD has also announced that there is a chance that several districts of the state will experience rainfall from April 30 onwards, which might provide some relief from the ongoing heatwave.
