Silchar airport was echoing with songs of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ on Friday. In a shocking incident, Assam Finance, Health, PWD, and Education Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was visiting Silchar and was welcomed with 'Pakistan Zindabad' slogans by Badruddin Ajmal’s supporters.
The incident has stirred controversy and left people angered.
Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter and said that it reveals the ideologies and intentions of Indian National Congress. By creating an alliance with such hateful dangerous forces, Congress party is encouraging hate in the country.
He wrote, "Look at the brazenness of these fundamentalists anti-national people who are shouting PAKISTAN ZINDABAD while they welcome MP @BadruddinAjmal. This thoroughly exposes @INCIndia which is encouraging such forces by forging an alliance. We shall fight them tooth & nail. Jai Hind."
The state government should take immediate action against such ‘Anti-national’ activity. He has urged the government to put such people behind the bars who shouted "Pakistan Zindabad' on Indian territory.
